The biennial St Albans International Organ Competitions celebrate 60 years since their foundation in 1963 by Peter Hurford. Outstanding organists aged 33 and under from across the world will compete for Interpretation and Improvisation prizes. 



A Presentation of Awards and Prize-Winners’ Recital on Saturday 15th July at 11am in the Cathedral will bring the 60th anniversary competitions to a conclusion.



This first part of the Semi-Final will be played on the historical 1735 Richard Bridge organ of Christ Church in London’s East End. 



The repertoire for this round will include André Raison’s Offerte du cinquième ton “Le Vive le Roy des parisiens”, John Stanley’s Voluntary in D major op.6 no.6, and free choice work(s).
