We are deeply saddened to hear that our dear friend and colleague Kalevi Kiviniemi, international organist and composer, died on 3 April in his native Finland at the age of 65.
Kalevi was a jury member at many competitions around the world, including at St Albans in 2013. His performances, over 2000 of them, surely remain vivid memories for so many of us. His musicianship will live on in his recordings, particularly of wide-ranging French repertoire and of Sibelius.
RIP, dear Kalevi.
