Interpretation Semi-Final 1B

Christ Church Spitalfields, Commercial Street, London E1 6LY

The St Albans International Organ Competitions attract young organists from all over the world, to perform in front of a jury of organists of international standing.

A total of 15 competition events run from Monday 7 July to the finals on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 July.

The Richard Bridge organ of Christ Church Spitalfields in east London is unique. Bridge (who died in 1758) was one of the leading craftsmen of his day, and his instrument was a musical and visual tour de force, recalling the striking tone colours of the baroque orchestra and complementing the architectural grandeur of Hawksmoor’s church which is now recognised as one of the high points of the English baroque. It was fully restored in 2015, after being silent for over 50 years.

Tickets £15 per event (season ticket £150 for all 15 events, a saving of £75)
