We appreciate that you will have questions about the safety and practicalities around returning to events.

We have changed our refund policy for this Festival. If you find that you are no longer able to attend any performance – for any reason – you will be entitled to a full refund.

We are planning this year’s Festival very carefully and in close collaboration with St Albans Cathedral. Practical arrangements are likely to be subject to adaptation, in reaction to the latest government advice and according to our own risk assessments. We undertake to monitor all relevant developments and to communicate with ticket-holders as required.

We are exploring the possibility of opening a refreshment area exclusively for ticket-holders outside the Cathedral, before each concert and during the interval.

Above all else, we are determined that our Festival will be a very special occasion, to be celebrated by audience and performers alike – despite of (and because of) these ongoing exceptional circumstances. We cannot wait to see you there!

June news for ticket-holders

In reaction to the Government announcement on 14 June, we want to reassure you that all Festival performances are expected to go ahead. We are continuing our detailed preparations to make the concerts as safe and enjoyable as they possibly can be, but changes are now required due to the expected phase of Covid relaxations being delayed.

All events will be Covid-Secure. The Cathedral has been awarded Visit England’s We’re Good To Go accreditation, the official UK mark to signal that the venue has worked hard to follow Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

All audience seating will now be re-arranged with social distancing of 1-metre-plus between each household group, in accordance with the regulations which have been in place since mid-May. Unless you are exempt from wearing a mask you will be expected to use a face-covering throughout your time in the Cathedral.

Seats will be reallocated to allow for each booking group to be distanced. The Cathedral’s staff have already started to plan these arrangements, and they will contact all bookers with details. It is very likely that your allocated seat(s) will have to change. You may be asked to move into a lower price band: if this happens you will be entitled to reclaim the difference in cost, or to cancel your booking for a full refund.

For some performances, we hope to install live-relay screens, for areas of the Cathedral with restricted views to which some ticket reallocations may be made.

Even more than before, we look forward to welcoming you to our joyful return to live music next month.
